The latest news and events from Creative Scene...         Socially Engaged Practice 6 - 8:30pm Thursday 6 April 2017 The Old Turk, Dewsbury Free including supper Book Now by Tuesday 4 April   The Social is for people who are passionate about how the arts can help make a positive change for people and places. Each First Thursday of the Month, we invite people to come together for a relaxed and informal evening of great conversations with guest speakers. Next Thursday 6 April, we will be talking about art beyond the gallery - art that is with, for and about people - and are joined by Bo Olawoye from New Art Exchange Nottingham, talking about how art can empower through looking at issues in people’s everyday lives, and idle women who are currently residing in Mirfield on their unique narrowboat womens' arts space. Expect a thought-provoking night with the opportunity to share creative ideas with like-minded people - with great food from the West Riding Kitchen, friendly faces and fun. It’s free - but you do need to book - don’t miss out!
