Creative Kirklees Newsletter 26 April 2017

We’re getting into festival time now so this week we’ve highlighted a couple of local festivals coming up over the next month.

We couldn’t ignore the
Tour de Yorkshire which comes through Kirklees on Sunday, but if watching the race isn’t your thing you can still make a day of it and join in the fun with Creative Scene and their cycling-mad performers in Birstall and interactive sculptures in Cleckheaton.
In May the
Grand Northern Ukulele Festival returns to Huddersfield for another vibrant weekend of live music. This 2 day festival runs from Sat 6 to Sun 7 May and offers a huge range of world-class music, workshops and interactive performances, presenting some of the best talent on four strings from around the globe.
Over the weekend of 13–14 May the
Slaithwaite Art Festival takes place across two venues: Slaithwaite Community Centre and Globe Arts Studio and will feature local and regional artists with a wide range of visual art to view and buy.

Towards the end of May (19–21) Shepley Spring Festival celebrates the very best of traditional music, song and dance from Britain and beyond. Concerts and dances feature some of the country's most well known traditional artists as well as showcasing promising new acts.
If you're looking for activities over the next week there is plenty to choose from below and on Creative Kirklees.
