Saturday 11th June, 7.30pm.  
A new performance exploring the impact of the shooting down of Iran Air Flight 655 on one father daughter relationship.  Presented in development.

As creative inspiration ZENDEH will reference King Lear (and its origins across Europe and the Middle East), Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and personal experiences of fathers and daughters.

ZENDEH are a national and international touring Theatre Company based in Newcastle who create award-winning, unforgettable theatre.

Inspired by a personal homophobic experience, this autobiographical performance focuses on the ups and downs of pride and self-loathing, and finding a place where you shouldn’t be afraid to celebrate your individuality.

Common Wealth are starting a Youth Theatre Lab in Bradford to develop the skills to make theatre which has something to say. The YTL will be a place of experimentation collaborating with highly experienced theatre practitioners, choreographers, visual artists and composers to develop important work by and for young people.

Open to 13-21 year olds, free, Every Wednesday from 15th June at Common Wealth HQ.

DIY 13: 2016 (Live Art Development Agency)


DIY 13 is an opportunity for artists working in Live Art to take part in unusual training and professional development projects conceived and run by artists for artists.  This year there are 20 projects for both emergent and experienced practitioners taking place across the UK between July and November 2016. Participation in most DIY projects is free of charge (some projects may necessitate a small financial contribution from participants to cover particular expenses).

Tales of Transformations:

A writing workshop with Elizabeth Hopkinson, 25th June at Wur Bradford

Join Elizabeth & hear the traditional Breton tale of Bisclavret, a medieval knight with a strange secret – he’s a werewolf!  Then have a go at writing your own tale of transformation, using Bisclavret’s story to help you.  We’ll be thinking about guilty secrets, unpunished crimes, and the changes we all go through in life.

Wur Bradford is an art and social space based in Bradford’s Kirkgate Market, supported by Two28, Bradford Council and Bradford Markets.
