An Explosive Weekend of New Work, Workshops and Performances.          West Yorkshire Playhouse presents Furnace 9 – 11 October Furnace pass £7 Individual tickets £3    Through Furnace the Playhouse supports the next generation of theatre artists. Whether you’re a local theatre maker looking for inspiration or simply interested in the creative process, over one weekend you can see an explosion of new work and fresh ideas and be part of a creative exchange.      The Weather Machine David Shearing & Company Thursday 9 October 6pm, 6.45pm, 7.30pm & 8.15pm   The Weather Machine combines video, sound, text and participation to reveal a theatrical spectacle. This work in progress is a collaboration with composer James Bulley and Bradford based writer Kamal Kaan.             The News Manic Chord Theatre Friday 10 October 6pm   Manic Chord are a Leeds based company who create physical and lyrical performance. At Furnace they will present a sharing of The News, their brand new production which draws attention to the complex question… what is the news? Who really makes it? And for what means?     Summer Sublets Showcase Saturday 11 October 4pm   Each summer, the Playhouse puts an open call out to local artists who are looking for rehearsal space and support to develop new projects. See some of the work that has been created here as part of the Summer Sublets scheme. Featuring Ben Mills, Catherine Hawthorn, Jamal Gerald and The Skeleton Project.          Workshops  Participate in workshops with leading theatre companies Theatre Ad Infinitum and RashDash. Playhouse Associate Company RashDash return with their distinct style of physical and musical performance.   Ballad of the Burning Star  Theatre Ad Infinitum Friday 10 October 7.45pm Tickets £12    Multi award-winning Theatre Ad Infinitum present an explosive tale. Armed with music, killer heels and a lethal troop of divas, an enraged Israeli executes a story of victimhood, persecution, aggression and love. With shrapnel-sharp voices and moves as smooth as an oiled tank chain, this cabaret troop invite you on a journey into the core of a conflicted Jewish state.              Inheritance Blues  Dugout Theatre Saturday 11 October  7.45pm Tickets £12   Dugout Theatre present this award winning, fringe favourite. A comedy about familial debt, heavy drinking, sibling rivalry and a blues cover band.
