Paul Farley is the prizewinning author of four collections
of poetry, including The Ice Age (Picador), which was awarded the
Whitbread Poetry Prize in 2002, and most recently The Dark Film. He is
also the co-author of Edgelands (Jonathan Cape, 2011). In 2012 he
was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. As a broadcaster he
has made many programmes with the BBC on art, landscape and literature,
including Auden: Six Unexpected Days, The Larkin Tapes and Children
of the Whitsun Weddings.

Words and Walking
Friday 1 – Sunday 3 November 2013
Words and Walking will be leading three walks for young
people, aged 12 – 25, on and around the Stanza Stones Trail, accompanied by
workshops with writers Katrina Naomi and Anna Turner. The walks will be of
varying length, and you are welcome to join us for all of them or any one or
two. All the events are free of charge, but booking is essential. Please

10am Walk from Marsden to Snow Stone and back (approx. 5

10am Walk from Todmorden to Rain Stone via Gaddings Dam
(10-12 miles) Will include writing exercises and inspirations.
Bring a packed lunch and a notebook
4pm Finish at Hebden Bridge Station

10am – 12noon Poetry workshop in Ilkley with Katrina
