A Big Announcement!

Sudha Bhuchar as Artist-in-Residence

Theatre in the Mill, commissioned by Bradford 2025, is thrilled to announce Sudha Bhuchar as Artist-in-Residence.

Sudha Bhuchar is a quiet revolutionary. For over forty years, she has been at the heart of South Asian theatre in Britain—building, performing, and writing stories that speak truth to power. Sudha’s work is political through the personal and paints a broad canvas while focussing on the ‘extraordinary in the ordinary’. It’s this lifelong commitment, alongside her remarkable archive and multilingual creative practice, that makes us proud to welcome Sudha as our Artist in Residence at Theatre in the Mill from June till December 2025; co-commissioned by Bradford 2025.

As part of her residency, Sudha will be performing her Award-Winning one-woman show, "Evening Conversations" at The Loading Bay, The Beacon and Theatre in the Mill.

Tickets for the summer performances are now available:

Adventure With Impact

My name is Lucianne, and I’m a member of the Operations team here at Wilderness Ireland.

For a few days last month, I traded my desk for the wilds of Connemara, joining one of Venture Out’s Ember Project expeditions. Venture Out is a remarkable social enterprise supported through our Wilderness Conservation & Community Fund (WCCF).

Designed to empower vulnerable people from marginalised communities, these wild camping journeys help participants build resilience, confidence, self-reliance and connection through time spent hiking outdoors as part of a small group. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on this trip and it was a powerful reminder of how nature and shared adventure can have a lasting, positive impact and make travel a force for good.

Expeditions and opportunities like these are largely thanks to you.  Every traveller on a Wilderness trip has the chance to contribute to the WCCF, meaning your holiday helps make experiences like this possible.

If you’d like to learn more, I’ve shared a few reflections from my time on the expedition — about the people I met, the lessons I took home and the power of the wild to bring us closer.

Best Wishes,
