New Writing North Northern Writers' Award winners 2025

Happy to say the winners include my poet friend Ian Humphreys. Huge congratulations to Ian and all the other winners:

Meet the winners of the Northern Writers' Awards 2025!

Last night we celebrated the 25 writers who are joining England's largest and longest-running writer development programme.

Produced by New Writing North and supported by headline event sponsor Northumbria University, Arts Council England, and a range of partners, the awards identify some of the best unpublished writing in the country. They create career-making opportunities by attracting the attention of agents, publishers and producers.
