Well now, we are definitely on the
countdown to Christmas and you will find a great choice of
lovely things to see and do here in our newsletter and on the website – with a great selection of festive
workshops, concerts, events and activities throughout December, there
truly is something for everyone!
The Kirklees Concert Season alone have 7 fabulous
concerts in store including an evening organ concert, especially for
the Kirklees Year of Music which sees David Pipe perform Messiaen’s evocative nine-movement cycle for
Christmas on Friday 15 December at 7.30pm (Tickets just £5.50!)
and the family-friendly concert this year is Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes taking place on
Tuesday 12 December at 6pm.
If you're on the look-out
for a unique and special gift, do go and have a look at the Christmas Pop-up Shop at the Piazza Shopping
Centre in Huddersfield where you will find a selection of
delightful, decorative, useful and playful items, lovingly
handcrafted with imagination, skill and care here in Yorkshire.
If you’re not one for
Christmas and all the festivities that go with it, there are plenty
of other activities on offer. There are some great exhibitions
currently showing including Maggie’s Art Exhibition in the Byram Arcade which
runs until 20 December, and the Contemporary British Painting Exhibition at
Zapato in Slaithwaite which runs until 20 January and there are also
plenty of non-festive workshops you can join!
