In March 2017, there is a Getting Published Day from The Writers' Workshop, details below:

What would you Ask an Agent? Join us at our 2017 Getting Published Day and get the answers to your questions.

If there's a writer in your life who needs the kind of support that only comes from exposure to the brightest writing tutors, book doctors and agents, then here's a thoughtful solution. And it makes for a very original gift (just saying).

On Saturday 4th March, Getting Published 2017 brings all the expertise of the country's finest writing tutors, book doctors and publishing decision-makers for a one-day conference unlike any other. Writers attending hone their skills in our workshops, pitch LIVE to agents, network with the industry's finest minds and walkaway with professional feedback on their current works (show me a better way to say 'I believe in you' and I'll be very impressed.

The first sentence can’t be written until the final sentence is written.” —Joyce Carol Oates

“When writing a novel a writer should create living people; people, not characters. A character is a caricature.”
—Ernest Hemingway

“When your story is ready for rewrite, cut it to the bone. Get rid of every ounce of excess fat. This is going to hurt; revising a story down to the bare essentials is always a little like murdering children, but it must be done.”
—Stephen King
