Upcoming Kirklees Libraries events

Just received the latest information on upcoming Kirklees Libraries events that I thought my followers may be interested in:

On the 5^th March, 7.30 pm at Marsden Library, £2 including refreshments we have  Marsden Yarn Spinners, while in Denby Dale Library on the same day  we have a visit from author Susan Eliot Wright as part of our International Women’s Day celebration at 7.30 pm, tickets £2.

 

Thursday 6^th March, 7.30-9.0pm, at Cleckheaton Library. for International Women’s Day you can see writers Mandy Sutter and Gill McEvoy. Tickets £2/ £1 for Kirklees Passports.

Mandy Sutter is an award-winning writer who lives near Ilkley Moor with a large black dog called Fable. Her novel, Stretching It, is "a light-hearted look at sex, papier-mâché and the problems of caring for an impossible parent".
Gill McEvoy is a poet. As a young mother she faced the illness and early death of her husband. In 1999 she faced ovarian cancer, the disease that killed her mother, and went on to live long beyond the prognosis.

 

On 7^th March there is an another Open Mic poetry night at Huddersfield Library, 6-7.55pm. Free and recommended event. For more details contact Lorna or Jude 01484 221965

 

On 13^th March  Kate Adie is at Huddersfield Town Hall as part of Huddersfield Literature Festival.  Tickets selling fast and available on line and from the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

 

On 21^st March, 2-3pm, at Huddersfield Library tickets £1 there will be a poetry discussion  workshop led by poet Linda France at Huddersfield Library as part of Read Regional.  Very limited numbers.

 

26^th March, Cleckheaton Town Hall 7.30pm we are pleased to welcome Alan Titchmarsh.  Tickets from Kirklees Box Offices. 01484 223200

Alan Titchmarsh at Cleckheaton Town Hall.   Tickets are £3 or £2.50 with a Kirklees Passport.
