We Are The Lions @ SevenGreat music and theatre in the mix this week, starting tomorrow Wednesday 19th November 6-7.15pm with Rush Hour Jazz – Tessa Smith, who sings timeless standards and powerful contemporary songs, including tonight, swinging jazz tunes with the JazzLeeds trio. In 1869 Russian scientist Dmitri Mendeleev had a dream – he had created the periodic table we recognise today. But Mendeleev and his successors never answered the big question: Of all these elements, which is the best one? Tonight, 6 experts explain why their element is exceptional, advocating for their atom. Seven Venue. Hat Donations.Two nights of theatre on Thursday 20th November and Friday 21st November, 7.30pm, Townsend Theatre Productions – We Are The Lions, Mr Manager! Written by Neil Gore and directed by Louise Townsend, this is the story of the Great Grunwick Film Processing Factory Strike of 1976-8, and the inspirational strike-leader Jayaben Desai, one of many newly arrived Gujarati women workers from East Africa. Seven Venue. £12.On Saturday 22nd November, 4-6pm, Autumn Sessions – Ali & Gee perform with drums, guitars, harmonies and dance. British Ali Bullivent and Zimbabwean Godfrey Pambalipe come together to produce a rich mix of music with influences from the Southern African continent and the West. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel. Organised by Mewl Music.And in the evening of Saturday 22nd November, 8pm, Rob Dylan Band – Rolling Thunder Revue. The Rob Dylan Band performs the music of Bob Dylan and The Band in a Rolling Thunder style. They have been entertaining audiences for many years with their dynamic and powerful shows filled with songs from one of the world’s greatest songwriters. Seven Venue. Doors 7.45pm. £15.Rounding off the weekend on Sunday 23rd November, 7.30pm, the Sunday Quiz. Test your knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to end the weekend with friends.
