Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture events, University of Bradford

 Detailing upcoming events:

We are proud to announce the University of Bradford's programme of events as part of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

As a proud partner of Bradford 2025, we’ve been contributing to this exciting year, highlighting the connection between culture, innovation, and academic expertise. Last month, we hosted the exciting event
‘Fight or Byte: Can AI transform the boxing world?’. Held at our Unique Fitness Centre, the event brought together boxing professionals, trainers, and academic experts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to discuss the potential impact of technology on the sport. The panel and audience explored questions such as whether boxing needs to adopt AI to remain relevant, if AI-assisted judging could reduce controversial decisions, and whether the introduction of AI might deter fighters from participating.

More recently, we welcomed Professor Paul Rogers, Emeritus Professor of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, for his lecture, 'Just where is the world going'. As President of the Movement for the Abolition of War, Professor Rogers provided thoughtful insights on the rapid changes shaping the world, the challenges ahead, and how individuals can contribute to building a more peaceful future.

We’re also inviting our alumni to join us for upcoming events as part of this inspiring programme. Take a look below to see what’s coming up and be part of this special year.

Best wishes,
Alumni & Development Team
