Bring the whole family to the 167th Great Yorkshire Show and experience an unforgettable day out that celebrates farming, food and the countryside. Taking place from Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 July, this year’s Show is set to be bigger and better, with even more to explore for visitors of all ages.
At the heart of the action is the enhanced Discovery Zone, a vibrant space designed especially for children and families. Located next to the Garden Show and sponsored by National Grid, it’s packed with hands-on activities and inspiring experiences that bring farming and nature together in fun and engaging ways.

Workshop to learn about sustainable farming
Birds of prey displays
Drystone walling demonstrations
Crafts and wood shaving
Pedal tractors, soft play and face painting
A quiet, family gazebo space

Bring your picnic to the Show
Next to the Discovery Zone is a picnic area, sponsored by Nestlé, offering views across the Show and where the hillside will be adorned with cover crops spelling out the initials, YAS. Activities in the Discovery Zone are free, funded by show organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
School Veg Box Competition
The Society’s annual School Veg Box Competition for primary schools has attracted a record 31 entries and culminates in a display of 12 finalists’ veg boxes in the Discovery Zone. All show visitors are welcome at the nearby Garden Show Stage at 1pm on Wednesday 15 July when the winners are revealed.
