More things to do in London this week/end

With thanks to Country and Townhouse and The Southbank Centre:

November 23, 2025   |

Dear Reader,

What does it take to be a Country & Town House Future Icon Power Person? You need to be on the side of people and planet and having a big impact in your field. These are the 30 people we had the joy of celebrating on Friday. A packed room of trailblazers at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park (winner of our Sustainable Hotel of the Year award), sharing stories, challenges and opportunities about how we can keep working responsibly with regard to our world and our place in it. It’s sustainable catnip and I love it. For all the negativity surrounding us, it was a real reminder of the innate goodness of people and their passion to do better by us all. And none of it was about filling their own coffers on the back of other people’s hard work, building bunkers for themselves when the sh*t hits the fan or aiming to colonise Mars. And a big hooray for that.

Have a great week,
