Festival Week @ SevenAs part of Chapel Allerton Arts Festival week at Seven, tonight, Thursday 28th August, 7.30pm, JazzLeeds – Olivia Cuttill Quintet, Cuttill, formerly a bright star of Leeds Conservatoire Jazz Course, is now a London based jazz trumpet player and composer. She brings her all star band back to Seven. S even Venue. £12 / £10 conc. Also Thursday 28th August, 8pm onwards, look forward to the Festival annual Folk Roots Fringe – Irish Traditional Music Session, led by local musicians from the Wednesday Night Irish Session at the Chemic Tavern Everyone is welcome to listen or bring an instrument or a song and join in. Seven Bar. Donations to Chapel Allerton Arts Festival.A real treat on Friday 29th August, 7.30pm, Folk Roots Fringe presents Iain Archer. Known as the Snow Patrol guitarist/songwriter and award-winning collaborator with the likes of James Bay and Jake Bugg, this top show highlights Iain’s gifted songwriting. Seven Venue. £16 advance /£19 on the door.On Saturday 30th August, 2pm-6pm, Chapel Allerton Arts Festival - Cafe Run, with local musicians playing around and about in Chapel Allerton. Seven Courtyard. Donations to Chapel Allerton Arts Festival.Also on Saturday 30th August, 7.30pm, JazzLeeds – Ancient Infinity Orchestra withr music that drinks deep from the well of spiritual jazz and is especially inspired by the soulful sounds of Pharoah Sanders, Alice and John Coltrane, but also channels a certain Northern sensibility. Melodic, warm and honest this is music that is happy to wear its heart on its sleeve.
