Wednesday, June 10th

Holmfirth Arts Festival takes over the streets this weekend (Friday–Sunday), bringing a vibrant programme of high quality street theatre, live music and community-led creative activity. Known for its spectacular parade and co-created events, this much loved annual celebration transforms the town with performances and experiences across the main weekend from 12–14 June.

The newly announced 2026/27 Kirklees Concert Season will also bring a diverse lineup of live music performances to venues across the district, offering something for all audiences to enjoy in the year ahead.

This week you can take part in local activity through the Marshian Arts Trail, S2R’s “Art in the Park” session at Greenhead Park on Friday 12 June, offering relaxed, creative ways to get outdoors and connect with others.

You can also stop by Ruddi’s Café Pop-Up Shop at The Media Centre on Wednesday 17 June, serving up homemade bakes and retro sweets, with every purchase supporting the fantastic work of Ruddi’s Retreat.

Looking ahead to the end of June, there’s even more to explore, with a range of community events, summer festivals and creative activities taking place across the district, all featured on the Creative Kirklees website and What’s On guide

Take a look at the latest News and have your say to help name Huddersfield's New Public Square as part of the Our Cultural Heart regeneration scheme.
