LIGHTS UP!

From Thursday 13 - Saturday 15 November, join us after-hours at Locomotion for Lumiere 2025! From 17.00 - 22.00 each night, experience a unique light spectacle as part of the UK's landmark light festival!

Celebrating 200 years of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, brand-new light commissions will bring the inspiring history of Shildon to life through projection-mapped artwork, blended light and decorated lanterns containing messages and memories.

At 14.00 on Saturday 29 November, join us at Locomotion to enjoy a performance of newly composed music inspired by the railways! 

Part of the S&DR 200 festival and featuring a soundscape blending sounds from Tanfield Railway and oral histories from local Shildon railway workers alongside music from a string quartet - you won't want to miss this.
