Our new report highlights clear lack of diversity and representation in leadership across the sector |
Creative UK is proud to share its latest report: Leadership Diversity in the Creative & Cultural Industries. The report's results show a clear lack of diversity and representation in leadership roles across the creative sector, with existing data benchmarked against wider UK industry. Findings of ‘worrying underrepresentation’ of women, people from working class and ethnic minority backgrounds, and disabled people, mean that Creative UK is calling for change. REGIONAL PROGRAMMES UPDATES |
A pivotal moment for West Midland's film & TV sector |
There has been a flurry of announcements benefitting the region's film & TV industry in the past week, including the return of Bagpuss! Our Create Growth Programme alumni, Threewise Entertainment, is bringing the beloved character back to screens with support from the West Midlands Content Fund. The announcement coincides with the news that the West Midlands IP Fund will be returning to the region, as shared by Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker. The fund, managed by Creative UK in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and Create Central, will continue to support screen SMEs in the West Midlands Combined Authority region in the sustainable development of their film, TV and animation IP. It comes at a pivotal time for the region's film & TV sector, where the BBC has just announced two regional-based commissions (one supported through the West Midlands IP Fund), and a commitment to expand production investment in the region. |
