This is really sad but having voluntarily run a literature festival I know how hard it is to keep engagement with volunteers, especially in the cost of living crisis:
A Fond Farewell from Hebden Bridge Arts
After much thought (and many cups of tea), we’ve made the heartfelt decision to bring Hebden Bridge Arts to a close.
We know this may come as a surprise, and there’s a real sadness in saying goodbye. Despite exploring every possible route, the challenges of reduced funding and a much smaller team have led us to the conclusion that it’s time to step back.
That said—we’re so proud of everything we created together. From joyful festivals to community-led creativity, the spirit of Hebden Bridge Arts will live on in the valley (and in all of you).
